Leave No Parent Behind With Project Appleseed: National Parental Involvement Day began in 1994 and Public School Volunteer Week in 1997, to provide opportunities in which parents can volunteer in their local public schools. Five million parents in 3500 school districts are involved in this effort. Washoe County School District will be celebrating National Parent Involvement Day with a Family Learning Night at McKinley Arts and Culture Center. To further encourage positive parent involvement, November 15th will also be celebrated as a Screen Free Day. Great non-screen activities will be posted on the Tune In To Kids website.
