Dr. Walsh is the President and Founder of the National Institute on Media and the Family (www.mediawise.org) based in Minneapolis, MN. Psychologist, educator, author and parent of three, Dr. Walsh has emerged as one of the world’s leading authorities on parenting, family life and the impact of media on children and teens. He has written nine books including the national best seller Why Do They Act That Way? A Survival Guide to the Adolescent Brain for You and Your Teen (Free Press, 2004). His presentations focus on brain development, adolescence, the impact of media on children and the factors that influence school performance, literacy, and violence prevention. His presentations are down to earth, understandable, engaging, and laced with warmth and humor. His latest book, No-Why Kids of All Ages Need to Hear It and How Parents Can Say It, has proven to be another hit.
Due to popular demand, Dr. Walsh will return to the Reno-Sparks area to present the latest in information helpful to parents struggling to understand the digital age and how it affects their children. There is no admission charge; time and place are TBA. |
